What was happening to us this year?

Today is a year since Russia launched its full-scale invasion.

It’s been the toughest, the most bitter, and the hardest year in the history of Modern Ukraine.

What was happening to us this year?

On the first day of the full-scale invasion, we all knew for sure we would fight for our freedom, our country, and our lives.

Last March, we were naive enough to think that the citizens of Russia did not support Putin, and we were naive enough to think that Russians would protest against Putin’s actions to stop all these murders in our country. But now we know that over 80% of Russians do support the actions of their President. Some of their singers and actors say, “Having (read “occupying” Ukraine’s South gives us the Azov sea all to ourselves. Isn’t it great?”. So basically, they confess they justify this war as long as it gives them new territories. And now they speak about occupying Odesa, so they have control over the Black Sea by themselves. Killing people for territories in the 21st century.

Over this year, Russia killed dozens of thousands of Ukrainians (some sources say that in Mariupol alone, 80,000 civilians died), forced over 6,000,000 people to flee the country, and over 12,000,000 to leave their homes and move inside Ukraine. Russia occupied some of our territories and destroyed hundreds of our cities and villages.

There is no city or village in Ukraine now that has not been struck by a Russian missile.

Over the year, Russia attacked our cities with 5,000 missiles targeting residential areas, schools, kindergartens, hospitals, energy, and water infrastructure.

Thanks to your weapon supplies, and air defense systems, we managed to hit (read destroy) 80% of them; in total, we destroyed 4,000 enemy missiles in our air. If 1,000 missiles killed about 100,000 Ukrainians, it hurts to think how many more compatriots we would have lost then.

Russians wanted us to get cold and give up. Yet, this does the opposite of what they want — this only makes us stronger and united in this fight for our freedom and our country.

Of course, this all is possible thanks to your help and support.

What were we doing this year?

For the team

95% of the Stripo team lived in Dnipro, the mid-east of the country.

We gave all team members who were willing to leave Ukraine or move to the west of the country (which is farther from Russia and closer to Europe) the opportunity to do so. We helped them and their families move out of Dnipro.

Anyone could take as many days off as necessary to move or to pull themselves together.

Many of them are back in Ukraine now because there is no place like home. Some still are staying in Europe.

For the Product

We love our clients and understand they need a reliable product, so we did our best not to let our war and frequent blackouts affect their businesses.

Here is what we did:

  • located our servers in a safe place in Europe;

  • equipped offices with Starlinks and generators so the customer support team can work during their regular hours and help clients solve their email design issues.

This all helped us provide a stable performance of Stripo. We even managed to release a bunch of new features. And the release of the upgraded editor, which we call Stripo 5.0, is scheduled for this spring.

And as we mentioned in our last year’s speech, we stopped all business affairs with Russia.

For the victory

Some of our team members joined the Armed Forces to protect the country.

Some spread the word about Ukraine.

On Jan 14th, when a Russian missile hit a multi-storeyed residence building, and dozens of people were under the collapsed building, some of us rushed there to help rescuers because we knew the faster we sorted out the debris, the higher the chances of finding those people alive.

The company has been donating some money each month. When this tragedy in Dnipro happened, the company gave out a big amount of money to help these people who lost their homes now with food and places to live in.

Some of us are now volunteers. They either collect money for military vehicles for our defenders or help the refugees accommodate in new places.

They collected a bunch of fundraisers if you’d like to donate.

List of fundraisers

We’re sharing only trustworthy and absolutely safe organizations.

Humanitarian aid or fundraisers for refugees

  1. International Rescue Committee. They provide emergency support to those whose lives are shattered by the Russian war in Ukraine and worldwide.

  2. Mila Kuniz and Ashton Kutcher launched a fundraiser to help Ukrainian refugees who need housing and supplies right away.

Medical aid

  1. United 24, Medical Aid, the initiative of the President of Ukraine.

  2. Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine.

  1. Medical Aid for Ukraine. Countless Ukrainian civilians and defenders have received urgent medical aid thanks to the Ukrainian Freedom Fund

  2. WHO provides donations of medical supplies in support of the Ukraine emergency response.

Helping pets

  1. Patreon, they save and rehabilitate animals in danger.

  2. PETA Germany. They have now delivered 110,000 kgs of food for animals in Ukraine, with some of their other work including rescuing 80 dogs from an animal shelter in Kharkiv, and 11 cats and 10 dogs from Kyiv.

  3. Viva Rescue Centre. They say the war in Ukraine is a tragedy not only for people but also for animals.

  1. Come Back Alive. They purchase equipment for one of the Armed Forces units to help the Ukrainian military defeat the occupiers in cyberspace.

  2. Army of Drones by United 24. They are raising funds for 10 RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drones. Mark Hamill, the legendary actor who portrayed Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars movie saga, is the ambassador of United 24.

Instead of conclusions

We want to thank you for staying with us and trusting us. This means a lot.

Also, we want to thank you that you’ve helped our country a lot by giving homes to our refugees, supplying us with weapons, and supporting us morally. Every good word you’ve said about us, every good thought, and your every prayer about us have been helping us stand strong.

Sincerely,

The Stripo team.
